NYPD: Man Punches 59-Year-Old Woman Outside Her Flushing Home, Steals Purse

The NYPD is searching for a man reported to have punched a woman at the door of her Flushing home before stealing her purse.

The incident happened just past 11 a.m. on Jan. 22, when the man followed the 59-year-old victim to her home by 58th Road and College Point Boulevard and began attacking her, according to police.

The thief punched the woman’s face numerous times, and then fled west on 58th Road with her purse, police said. Inside the purse was a cell phone, a bracelet, and approximately $200 in cash, according to police.

The NYPD said the victim was taken to New York Presbyterian Queens for pain and bruising to her face.

The suspect is described as black, and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, a blue jacket with a red and white stripe on the back, black pants, and blue and white sneakers, according to police.

A Flushing man was indicted by a Queens grand jury in a fatal collision that killed an 8-year-old boy in East Elmhurst last month.
