Police are looking for a suspect who allegedly robbed a corner bodega at knifepoint in Corona during the early morning hours of Tuesday, Mar. 5.

The perpetrator allegedly walked into the AAA Deli and Grill at 102-02 34th Ave. just before 4 a.m. and approached a 53-year-old man working behind the counter and threatened him with a knife.

The robber proceeded to take around $1,200 in cash from the register before leaving the bodega, police said, adding that the suspect was last seen traveling southbound on 102nd Street toward 35th Avenue. The store employee was not injured during the encounter.

The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect on Wednesday that showed the robber entering the bodega wearing a black hooded winter jacket, a black face covering, dark pants, black shoes and blue latex gloves and he appeared to be holding the blade in his right hand. A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest.

Through Mar. 3, the NYPD 115th Precinct, where the incident took place, has reported 61 robberies so far this year, 19 more than the 42 robberies reported at the same point last year, an increase of 45.2%, according to the most recent CompStat report.

Police from the 115th Precinct in Jackson Heights did not have far to go to locate a senior who allegedly stalked a 12-year-old girl in broad daylight in East Elmhurst.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, a bearded older man approached a young girl as she walked along 81st Street near 31st Avenue. He grabbed her hand, but the girl managed to pull away. Undeterred, the man followed her and grabbed her hand a second time before eventually heading north on 81st Street, according to police. The girl was not injured during the incident.

A Bronx woman was drag racing against other vehicles at a high rate of speed on the Whitestone Expressway when she caused a fatal collision that killed a 62-year-old Uber passenger in 2023.

Suspect sought for burglary of on-campus church at St. John’s University: NYPD

Police from the 107th Precinct in Fresh Meadows are still looking for a burglary suspect who robbed a church on the Hillcrest campus of St. John’s University last month.

The unidentified man entered St. Thomas More Church through an unlocked door at around 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 11. Once inside, the perpetrator removed $300 in cash from one of the offices. The suspect ran off in an unknown direction and remains at large a month later, police said Wednesday.
