Queens senior beaten to death by son during domestic dispute at their shared Corona home Monday: NYPD

A 79-year-old Corona man was beaten to death by his son during a domestic dispute at their home on Monday afternoon.

Police from the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst responded to a 911 call of a dispute inside a home at 104-71 43rd Ave., three blocks south of Roosevelt Avenue where they found Leo MacBryde badly beaten by his 47-year-old son who lived at the house, police said.

EMS responded to the crime scene and rushed the wounded retiree to Elmhurst Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short while later.

The 47-year-old man was taken to the 110th Precinct as a person of interest and he was held in custody after questioning.

The suspect’s name had not been released as of Tuesday afternoon and the charges are pending, an NYPD spokeswoman said. The homicide investigation remains ongoing.

The perpetrators allegedly forced their way into the victim’s apartment, punched him repeatedly in his body with closed fists, and forcibly removed $60 in cash and medication before fleeing the building in an unknown direction, police said Monday. EMS responded to the crime scene and transported the victim to Long Island Jewish Forest Hills, where he was listed in stable condition.
