Most expensive rental in Queens leased at $11,200 a month

A Little Neck mansion at 53-27 254th St. has become the most expensive rental in Queens, with a monthly lease of $11,200.

This Mediterranean style single-family home is more than 9,184 total square feet. Originally built in 2004, this property was once owned by New York Mets legend and former manager of the Staten Island Ferryhawks Edgardo Alfonzo.

The interior of the house is composed of three floors and includes five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, a kitchen, a dining room, a foyer, a batting cage, a theatre and a mirrored gym. There are also three fireplaces within the house. Exterior features include a fenced yard, an in-ground pool, private gardens, a patio, a porch, a private entrance and a sprinkler lawn system. There is a two-car driveway and a garage attached to ensure easy private parking.

This property is conveniently located near multiple forms of mass transit, including bus stops and the Long Island Railroad. It is also located close to local schools, including M.S. 67Q: Louis Pasteur Middle School and Francis Lewis High School.

MTA bus slams into pole in Flushing, injuring eight passengers: NYPD

The driver of the Q20A bus was traveling westbound on 57th Road just south of Kissena Corridor Park at 5:58 a.m. when he made a right turn onto Main Street, jumped the curb, and slammed into a light pole at the intersection of Booth Memorial Avenue and Main Street, an MTA spokesman said. There were seven passengers on the bus when it crashed. They were transported by EMS to New York-Presbyterian Hospital with minor complaints of pain, according to the NYPD spokesman.

The Q20A bus had significant front-end damage, and an MTA spokesman said the bus operator is being withheld from service pending the investigation. No criminality is suspected, and the investigation remains ongoing, the NYPD spokesman said.
