Police are investigating anti-Asian graffiti that was discovered Monday on a Long Island Rail Road sign in Flushing.
The hateful messages found at the Murray Hill station included statements such as “Chinese Losers Town” and “Asians all on welfare!”
Railroad workers painted over the graffiti shortly after it was reported.
Flushing Congresswoman Grace Meng issued a statement saying that she was “deeply disturbed” by the vandalism.
“We must all stand up and condemn this unacceptable bigotry. I thank the authorities who are investigating this crime and hope that those responsible are apprehended and swiftly brought to justice. There is no place for hate in Queens!”
