NYPD: 77-year-old Woman Struck Dead by Hit-and-Run Driver on Parsons Boulevard

A 77-year woman was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Flushing this morning, just two blocks from where she lived.

Jun Sum was struck while crossing Parsons Boulevard mid block between 32nd Avenue and 33rd Avenue at 7:10 a.m., according to the NYPD. When police arrived she was unconscious and unresponsive and was transported to Flushing Hospital Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

The vehicle fled the scene, according to police. Police have yet to release a description of the vehicle.

A woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver after she jumped out of an Uber on the Long Island Expressway near Main Street in Flushing early Saturday morning.

Police from the 107th Precinct in Fresh Meadows responded to a 911 call on Nov. 23 of a pedestrian struck in the eastbound lanes of the highway at 1:38 a.m., where they found the victim lying on the roadway unconscious and unresponsive.
