Police are searching for a man who was reported to have attacked a passenger while aboard a Flushing-bound 7 train two weeks ago.

The NYPD says the man was harassing passengers on the train just after 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 6 when he then approached a 36-year-old man and punched him in the face, seemingly unprovoked. The victim and the assailant did not exchange any words, police say.

The attacker then fled from the train as it arrived at the Main Street subway station, police say. Surveillance video provided by the NYPD shows the suspect exiting the station.

The victim was left with bruising to the left side of his face and refused medical attention at the scene, according to police.

The suspect is described as black, approximately 25 years old, 6 feet 5 inches tall, and 190 pounds, according to police. He has a medium complexion, black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a blue work jacket, a black baseball hat, a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
