NYPD: Dead Body Found Floating In East River off College Point

A body was found floating in the East River off College Point this morning, police said.

The body was discovered at about 9:30 a.m. in the water in the vicinity of 127-01 Powells Cove Blvd.

The NYPD Harbor Unit arrived on the scene and found a man in his forties, unconscious and unresponsive floating in the water. He was transported to the College Point Yacht Club where EMS pronounced him dead.

The NYC Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation is ongoing.

The deceased’s name has yet to be released.

Masked gunman robs Total Wireless store in Flushing, steals $6K: NYPD

Police from the 109th Precinct in Flushing are looking for a masked gunman who pulled off an armed robbery at a cell phone store on the night of Monday, May 5.

The suspect entered the Total Wireless shop located in the old Hua Cheng Restaurant at 41-19 Kissena Blvd., across the street from the Queens Public Library branch, just before 7 p.m. He approached the counter, pulled out a firearm, and threatened the 27-year-old woman who was working the night shift, police said Wednesday.
