Man’s Body Found in Waters Off World’s Fair Marina

A 53-year-old man’s body was found floating in the waters by the World’s Fair Marina this morning, police said.

Police responded to a 911 call at 9:15 a.m. of an unconscious man in the water near the marina, which is located at the edge of Flushing Meadows–Corona Park, near Citi Field.

Upon arrival, police discovered a fully clothed man along the shoreline who was unresponsive.

When the man was removed from the water, EMS pronounced him dead on the scene.

His body was transported to the Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

The man’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
