A Flushing woman has been indicted for attacking three newborns and two adults with a knife in the early morning hours of Sept. 21, according to the Queens District Attorney.

Jufen Wang, 52, of Cherry Avenue., was put in charge of looking after the infants but instead stabbed a fellow caregiver and three newborn babies at around 3 a.m. inside a house at 43-67 161st St., authorities said.

Wang started her attack by stabbing a 63-year-old fellow caregiver while the victim was feeding one of the infants. She then proceeded to stab the baby that was being fed and two other newborns.

A father to one of the children woke up to the sounds of Wang stabbing the infants and tried to stop her.

She then stabbed the 31-year-old father and bit him on the wrist.

“The defendant carried out a brutal attack on several individuals including defenseless, innocent children,” Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown said in a statement. “Her unspeakable acts will not go unpunished.”

The infant victims were left with a range of injuries. A 22-day-old girl suffered lacerations to her face, chest and ear. A 33-day-old infant girl sustained injuries to her abdomen and back. The youngest, just 13 days, suffered knife wounds to her abdomen, face and chest.

Both adults sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Wang faces a 10-count indictment, including four counts of second-degree attempted murder. She faces between 5 and 25 years in prison and was ordered to return to court on Nov. 16.

Wang’s attorney, Jean Wang, could not be reached for comment.

The location of the attack, according to published reports, is believed to be used for “birth tourism”, where pregnant mothers come to America on a tourist visa to give birth — granting the child US citizenship under the 14th Amendment.
