86-Year-Old Man Fatally Struck by SUV While Crossing Parsons Boulevard: NYPD

A 86-year-old man is dead after being struck by the driver of a mid-size SUV while crossing Parsons Boulevard over the weekend.

The victim was crossing the boulevard at 27th Avenue in Flushing when the the driver of a Toyota Highlander struck him at around 5:03 p.m. on Nov. 10., police say.

The 86-year-old, according to police, was crossing west to east at the same time that the operator of the mid-size SUV was driving north on Parsons Boulevard, who then struck the elderly man.

The victim had head and body trauma, and was rushed by ambulance to Booth Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made, and police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Police had detained a driver and some of the vehicle’s passengers at the scene for questioning, according to the Daily News.

The victim’s name will be released by police pending family notification.
