Police are searching for a man who allegedly destroyed multiple statues inside a Chinese Buddhist Temple in Flushing last week.
The suspect entered the Chinese Buddhist Temple, located at 136-12 39 Ave, at around 11:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16 and then he threw a large concrete stone at multiple Buddhist statues, police say. Many statues were damaged.
The vandal then fled from the temple along Main Street, toward Roosevelt Avenue.
Police describe the suspect as Asian and around 30-years-old. He is around 5 feet 6 inches tall and 155 pounds with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweater, with blue denim jeans, and tan construction work boots.
