Thieves Steal $10,000 from Two Women As Part of Car Scam: NYPD

Police are searching for two men who allegedly stole $10,000 from two women as part of a scam.

The victims, two women ages 23 and 25, had an arrangement to meet the suspects to purchase a car on June 13 at 7:45 p.m. at 140-32 Cherry Ave., police said.

The two men arrived at the location, according to police, and pushed the victims to the ground, stealing one of their purses, and fleeing the location in a silver SUV.

The purse contained $10,000.

The suspects are described as black, and between the ages of 25 and 30.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
