The popular Flushing Street Festival returns next month for its sixth year and is expected to draw thousands of people, from near and far, to taste the neighborhood’s famed cuisine and more from over 80 vendors.

The festival will shut down 40th Road between Prince Street and Main Street in the heart of downtown Flushing on Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. for attendees to celebrate Flushing. Last year more than 25,000 people attended.

Organized by Flushing’s Business Improvement District near the end of summer each year, the annual street festival offers attendees plenty of food to try from neighborhood restaurants, live music and entertainment, interactive children’s activities, unique shopping opportunities and a variety of educational sponsors.

Food vendors who will be serving up their signature dishes at the fair include Legend Chicken, Flushing Ice Cream Factory, Eggcellent Souffles Pancake, Golden Rich, Miss Li Henan Cuisine, Shi Miao Dao Yunnan Noodles, 8 Pots Mini Hot Pots and Chinese Sugar Painting.

There are currently nearly 70 vendors registered for the street festival and with vendor registration still open, that number is expected to pass 80. Local businesses interested in joining the festival can contact the Flushing BID by phone at 718-888-1805 or by email at fc@flushingbid.com
