63-Year-Old Man Punched and Robbed on Murray Hill Street: NYPD

Police are looking for a suspect who punched a 63-year-old man in the face and stole $300 from him in Murray Hill on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred in the vicinity of Sanford Avenue and 159th Street at around 12:40 a.m. when the victim was approached by the male suspect who tried to make conversation with him.

The alleged robber tried to take the man’s wallet and when the victim resisted, he proceeded to punch him in the face and take roughly $300 cash and a number of credit cards, along with the victim’s cell phone.

The suspect fled westbound on Sanford Avenue and was captured on CCTV. The alleged perpetrator is described as black and was wearing a white sweater at the time of the attack.

The victim was later transported to Flushing Hospital Medical Center in a stable condition.

A white jumper? Is the writer a Brit? Or, perhaps, does not know the difference between a sweater (Americsn English for “jumper”) and a jumpsuit (one piece garment invented for use by parachutists and now commonly worn by prisonerss, among others.)
