The Queen Night Market’s 2019 season is going out with a “spooky bang” with its Halloween-themed finale this weekend.

The market ran every Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight in Flushing Meadows Corona Park near the New York Hall of Science. On Oct. 26, the market’s annual Halloween night returns, complete with trick-or-treating and costume contests for children and adults, alike.

The children’s contest will begin at 8:30 p.m., followed directly by the adult’s contest at 9 p.m.

Contest winners will take home prizes like swag from the New York Mets, a family membership to the New York Hall of Science, gift certificates to the toy store Kidding Around, concert tickets from Forest Hills Stadium and gift certificates from numerous food and drink establishments including Mikkeller Brewery, Tortilleria Nixtamal, Arepalicious, Anda Cafe, Indi Thai, Sam’s Fried Ice Cream, DiLena’s Dolcini and more.

DJ Katie Honan, Rogue the Magician, the all-kids band from School of Rock Queens and the R&B group Morrisania Band will perform for guests of the market.

Last year’s Halloween finale was canceled due to weather, making the anticipation for this year’s even greater.

“We had to cancel last year’s Halloween Finale for weather safety concerns, so we’re doubly excited about this year’s season finale,” John Wang, the founder of Queens Night Market, said. “There are tons of awesome prizes up for grabs.”

This year’s season of the Queens Night Market has been its busiest since the market debuted in 2015. On average, more than 13,000 people visit the market every Saturday night.

The market has represented 90 different countries through its vendors since it was started four years ago. It’s received recognition for being diverse and affordable — all food costs $6 or under.

“It’s been an incredible year – we crossed the one million visitors mark early this summer and the event has only gotten more diverse each year,” Wang said.
