A pair of men went on a two-week burglary spree, breaking into six homes in Whitestone and Flushing where they stole jewelry, clothing, handbags, a laptop and thousands in cash.

The thieves first struck on Oct. 25 when they broke into a Whitestone house near 154th Street and 20th Street by forcing open a back window at 9:30 p.m. They took the 60-year-old homeowner’s laptop and jewelry.

The duo then broke into the basement apartment at that house where they were confronted by a 72-year-old man and fled, police said.

Three days later on Oct. 28, they broke into a home in Flushing near 147th Street and 29th Avenue through a window on the side of the house sometime between noon and 8 p.m. They took jewelry and about $10,000 in cash that belonged to a 59-year-old woman who lived in the home, according to cops.

The same day some time between 2 p.m. and 11 p.m., the thieves broke into another home, this time in Whitestone near 149th Street and 22nd Avenue, police said. They broke a back door open and took off with about $5,000 in cash and the 83-year-old homeowner’s jewelry.

A few days later, the pair broke into two homes on the same block in Whitestone in one day.

On Nov. 8, they first broke into a house near Murray Street and 17th Avenue through the back window and took off with a 36-year-old woman’s jewelry and handbags between 8:50 p.m. and 10 p.m. They hit a second home on the block sometime between 12:30 p.m. and 3 a.m. also through a back window and grabbed the 41-year-old homeowner’s jewelry and clothing before fleeing, cops said.

The next day between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., the men broke into a sixth home in Whitestone near 149th Street and 22nd Avenue through a back window. Police said it’s yet to be determined if they removed any property from this home.
