An 80-year-old woman was fatally struck by a car while crossing a street last Friday in Murray Hill, police announced today.

Soon Ok Han, of Levittown, NY, was crossing 41st Avenue near Murray Street at 12:35 p.m. on Nov. 22 when she was struck by a 2015 Honda Civic, police said.

When police arrived at the scene, they found Han lying in the roadway with body trauma. EMS rushed her to New York-Presbyterian Hospital of Queens, where she was pronounced dead.

The Honda Civic, operated by a 61-year-old man, was traveling westbound on 41st Avenue before stopping at a stop sign at the intersection with Murray Street. When he resumed driving, the car traveled through the intersection and struck Han who was crossing south to north within the west crosswalk, according to the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.

Upon impact, the 80-year-old was knocked to the ground in the roadway, police said. The driver remained at the scene and was not injured.

There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.

Where do you read the driver was angry? This was an accident and definitely not a murder. Please don’t make this any worse than it already is.
