A pedestrian is dead after being hit by a car in Flushing early this week, police said.

Zhisheng Li, 67, was struck by a vehicle on Wednesday while walking westbound on a sidewalk in front of a parking garage entrance, located at 133-47 Sanford Ave., according to police.

A 69-year-old driver operating a 2008 Volkswagen Jetta – who was also traveling westbound on Sanford Avenue – hit Li as he attempted to make a right turn entering the garage.

Li was knocked into the roadway and suffered head trauma. He was transported to NY Presbyterian Hospital-Queens where he died due to his injuries on Dec. 19.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is still ongoing, according to police.

Wow, at this rate, cars are killing more people than guns! Where’s the outrage? Oh I forgot, a majority of folks on this site are car loving bicycle haters!

Drivers and walkers have to watch the roads and be aware of their surroundings. Driving in Flushing is horrible! I finally was able to get a stop sign on 136th Street and 39th Avenue because the intersection was so dangerous – cars crossing every which way and you couldn’t cross the street without taking your life in your hands. And we’re giving licenses to people who took the permit tests in their own language when signs in this country are in English? This is scary.
