A Flushing man was sentenced to prison Friday for selling drugs to an undercover officer and being in possession of a gun in 2019.
Chris Lee, 30, was sentenced to nine years in prison Friday after pleading guilty in May to charges of gun possession and selling illegal narcotics.
He was caught carrying a gun and observed selling both firearms and drugs during a long-term undercover investigation between August 2019 and January 2020, Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said.
“There is likely no deadlier combination – illegal guns and drugs – that puts our neighbors and children at grave risk,” Katz said.
Lee, of Sanford Avenue, sold three firearms to a buyer who was an undercover detective during the investigation.
He sold the officer a defaced .38 revolver, a 380 semiautomatic pistol with a laser aiming device, a 9mm semiautomatic pistol and more than 100 rounds of ammunition in exchange for cash, according to the charges.
He also sold a different buyer, who was different undercover officer, cocaine and methamphetamine during the investigation, Katz said.
Lee pleaded guilty in May to two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree.
Queens Supreme Court Justice John Zoll sentenced him to nine years in prison, followed by three years’ post-release supervision.
“Every single illegal firearm in the borough of Queens is a potential tragedy,” Katz said. “My Office will continue to do everything possible stop the bloodshed and the poison of drugs from circulating within our communities.”
