Thursday’s episode of the hit game show Jeopardy! will be featuring a Queens native as one of the contestants. Accounting director Jesse Chin of Bayside will compete on “America’s Favorite Quiz Show.”

Hosted by Mayim Bialik, the show will feature Chin facing off against two other contestants on May 25. Chin is the latest of a long history of Queens residents to participate on the show.

Thursday’s episode is scheduled to air at 7 p.m. on ABC.

With more than 20 million viewers each week, Jeopardy! is the top-rated quiz show on television. Since it first started airing in 1964, the show has won a total of 43 Emmy Awards, which is also the Guinness World Records title for the most Emmy Awards won by a TV game show. Additionally, the show has received a Peabody Award for “celebrating and rewarding knowledge.”

The original host of the show was Art Fleming, who held the position from 1964-1979. When the show returned to television in 1984, Alex Trebek became a pop culture icon when he took over as host, serving the role until his death in 2020. Since 2021, Bialik has shared hosting duties with Ken Jennings, who holds the record for the longest winning streak on the show with 74 straight wins.

Three sought in armed robbery near Flushing Meadows Corona Park: NYPD

Police from the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst are looking for armed robbers who targeted a 26-year-old woman in Corona and remain at large nearly two weeks later.

Police say three strangers approached the woman as she walked near the Playground for All Children in Flushing Meadows Corona Park at Corona Avenue and Saultell Avenue at around 4:20 a.m. on Friday, July 12. One of the perpetrators allegedly pulled out a small silver revolver and threatened the victim, while the others forcibly removed two yellow gold necklaces worth $2,000, according to the police report; however, an NYPD spokesman said it is not clear if that was the value of both chains or each one individually.
