Nov. 27, 2023 By Bill Parry A Brooklyn senior was killed last week after he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into two women in College Point, according to the NYPD. Police from the 109th Precinct in Flushing responded to a 911 call of a vehicle collision involving pedestrians on 20th Avenue near the Whitestone Expressway in College Point at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 23. The venue, which is located on Northern Boulevard in Flushing, has become known as a hub for great jazz music and performances. Nov. 21, 2023 By Ethan Marshall The number of vehicles being stolen, categorized by the NYPD as grand larceny auto, has increased throughout Queens year-to-date, compared to the same period in 2022, according to the latest crime stats released by the NYPD. Grand larceny auto incidents are up 39.6% in northern Queens for the year through Nov. 19, rising from 1,718 incidents last year to 2,398 this year.
