Numerous Queens restaurants will be represented at this event, which is scheduled to run from 6 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 9. City Council approves legislation to tackle bus congestion on public streets of downtown Flushing

Oct. 24, 2023 By Bill Parry The City Council has given the green light to resuscitate a decades old plan to finally tackle the chronic bus congestion that has plagued Flushing streets for years. Legislation sponsored by Council Member Sandra Ung was passed on Oct. 19 requiring the creation of a task force to identify potential locations for a bus transit center close enough to downtown Flushing to eliminate the need for buses to park on public streets. Crunching the Queens crime stats: Rape cases rising, grand larceny continues downward trend

While much of it follows a similar trend to last week’s stats, there are some notable changes in trends. Rape cases in northern Queens rose from 15 to 20 year-over-year. While the 104th, 111th and 112th precincts each saw no change, the only northern Queens precinct to experience a decline was the 115th, from five last year to one this year.
