Wang Community Health Center in Flushing is hosting two free vaccination events before the holidays, during which people can receive the updated Moderna COVID-19 booster and flu vaccines.  The vaccines are available for all eligible individuals aged 18 years and over. The evening began with a performance from Dickens-inspired Christmas carolers singing holiday classics for the audience. Queens Council Member Sandra Ung, Senator John Liu, NYPD members, Peter Tu from the Flushing Chinese Business Association and representatives from the office of Mayor Eric Adams joined Santa Claus in turning on the lights on the 40-foot Christmas Tree in the center of Tangram. Nov. 30, 2023 By Bill Parry A 3-year-old boy was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Flushing on Wednesday night, according to the NYPD. Police from the 109th Precinct in Flushing responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle near the intersection of College Point Boulevard and 41st Avenue just after 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 29, where they found the toddler lying on the roadway. EMS rushed the child to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. Nov. 28, 2023 By Rachel Butler Flushing Council Member Sandra Ung joined representatives from the MTA to celebrate the completion of upgrades at the Flushing-Main Street subway station on Nov. 22.
