Voting is open through Dec. 24.

The center’s Holiday Weekend celebration will begin on Dec. 9, between 2 and 5 p.m., and will require pre-registration, accessible here, to enter the express line for an experience that features live jazz music and dance performances to highlight their magical tree lighting ceremony and a complimentary photo op with Santa Claus.

The following weekend, on Dec. 16, from 2 and 4 p.m., the shopping center will offer a punch needle arts and crafts session that will revolve around crafting holiday-themed punch needle art with the help of a renowned textile artist, along with a gingerbread house and holiday cocktail-making session available at 4 p.m.

Both sessions are two hours in length, with the punch needle art crafts session available for all ages, and the gingerbread house-making session will be for adults ages 21 and up. Tickets are priced at $20 and accessible here

Three sought in armed robbery near Flushing Meadows Corona Park: NYPD

Police from the 110th Precinct in Elmhurst are looking for armed robbers who targeted a 26-year-old woman in Corona and remain at large nearly two weeks later.

Police say three strangers approached the woman as she walked near the Playground for All Children in Flushing Meadows Corona Park at Corona Avenue and Saultell Avenue at around 4:20 a.m. on Friday, July 12. One of the perpetrators allegedly pulled out a small silver revolver and threatened the victim, while the others forcibly removed two yellow gold necklaces worth $2,000, according to the police report; however, an NYPD spokesman said it is not clear if that was the value of both chains or each one individually.
