40-Year-Old Man Found Dead Near Citi Field Monday: NYPD

Police are investigating the death of a 40-year-old man whose body was found near Citi Field yesterday afternoon.

Jywan Stovall, of Westchester, was found lying on the ground, partially submerged in a puddle, near Seaver Way at 5 p.m. Monday, police said.

Stovall was found unconscious and unresponsive, but showed no obvious signs of trauma, police said.

EMS pronounced Stovall dead at the scene. The city’s medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

During the early morning hours of Aug. 15, 2020, 28-year-old NYC Correction Officer John Jeff was gunned down at the corner of Defoe Street and Ridgedale Street while heading to a house party just a mile away from his Farmers Boulevard home in Rochdale.
