Adidas, the sportswear and shoe retailer, enlarged its presence at the 40-24 College Point Blvd. mall last month and coffee roasters Starbucks opened a new venue there in October.

The Adidas expansion was completed on Dec. 14– just in time for the holiday season. The store is nearly 10,000 square feet in size and around 80 percent larger than before its enlargement. It is situated on level 4 of the mall.

Customers can now shop for a wider selection of Adidas shoes and clothing in various categories including running, football, training and Adidas Originals.

The Starbucks cafe opened on Level 2 in October and is a new addition to the mall. Coffee-lovers can purchase their favorite brews and food items from the store that is only open for pick-up due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The Starbucks is being operated by Target. The retail chain also operates a Starbucks Express inside its store at the mall.

The openings are a welcome boost for the mall and the Flushing region, according to Rishika Mahtani, the regional marketing manager for ShopCore Properties which operates the mall.

“These strong retailers complement other businesses at Skyview and contribute to the culture that makes the neighborhood so special,” Mahtani said. “It’s a testament to the Flushing community.

Mahtani said ShopCore has worked hard to make the mall safe for customers since the onset of the pandemic The mall has implemented new cleaning practices, social distancing strategies and put up COVID19-related signage.

“The health and safety of customers and employees has always been a top priority,” Mahtani said.

The mall houses many national retailers including Marshalls, Old Navy and BJ’s. There is also a BestBuy, a Nike Clearance store and several restaurants.
