(NYPD)

Dec. 30, 2019 By Allie Griffin

A Whitestone home was broken into and ransacked by burglars, who took off with the homeowner’s cash, credits cards and jewelry and purses earlier this month.

A 25-year-old man returned to his home in the vicinity of 147th Street and 24th Avenue at 8 p.m. on Dec. 10 and found it had been broken into through a back window, police said.

The bedrooms were ransacked and several purses and jewelry were gone, along with multiple credit cards and $3,000 cash.

The same day, an unidentified man was captured on surveillance using one of the stolen credit cards at Macy’s Herald Square, police said.

Anyone with information in regard to the identity of this male is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM, or on Twitter @NYPDTips.
