Flushing Man Struck Dead While Crossing College Point Boulevard Saturday: NYPD

A 56-year-old pedestrian was struck dead by a BMW while crossing College Point Boulevard on Saturday.

Lujan Quintero, a Flushing resident, was crossing midblock in the vicinity of Avery Avenue when he was hit by a northbound 2014 BMW sedan at around 9:10 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19. The victim, according to police, was crossing the boulevard from west to east, outside of the marked crosswalks.

When the police arrived, Quintero was unconscious and unresponsive, lying on the roadway, with severe body trauma. EMS responded to the scene and transported him to New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on Monday, Sept. 21, 2020.

There have been no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
