Newly Finished Tangram House South Apartments Nearly Sold Out

The first of two residential towers in Flushing’s Tangram, a 1.2 million-square-foot mixed-use development, is nearly sold out as closings and move-ins have begun, the developers announced Thursday.

About 95 percent of the tower’s 192 apartments — a mix of modern studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units — have already been bought.

The massive Tangram development, which also includes retail space, office condominiums and an incoming hotel, holds more than 300 apartments split between the newly opened Tangram House South, located at 133-27 39th Ave. and the future Tangram House West, located next door at 37-09 College Point Blvd.

Tangram House West’s 132 units are expected to hit the market in late spring 2020 and range from studios to four-bedrooms.

While nearly sold out, there are still some two- and three- bedroom units available. Prices start at $1,150,000 for two-bedrooms and at $1,900,000 for three-bedrooms.

The luxury units feature white oak floors, high ceilings, custom Italian cabinetry and washers and dryers. Almost all have balconies and select units have built-in wine coolers, fireplaces, outdoor barbecue grills and private terraces.

Residents will also have access to an 8,000-square-foot health and wellness club, a 24-hour-doorman lobby, a one-acre outdoor garden and an outdoor tennis court.

“With Tangram House South, we set out to introduce a new level of luxury to Flushing, with stunning apartments that showcase Manhattan-caliber finishes and spectacular private amenities complemented by the incredible retail, culinary and entertainment offerings at Tangram,” said Helen Lee, Executive Vice President of F&T Group, which is developing Tangram with SCG America.

The residential towers designed by Margulies Hoelzli Architecture are just one part of the mega-development.

“As construction progresses and the development takes shape, we are excited to celebrate this important milestone at Tangram and see our vision of transforming this neighborhood and lifestyle come to life,” Lee said.

The development’s office building, the 12-story-high Tangram Tower, was the first to open and companies have already begun moving into its 48 office condominiums.

The Tangram also features 275,00 square feet of retail space, anchored by Regal Cinemas which is expected to open next summer, and another tower will house the Renaissance Hotel which is currently under construction and is scheduled to open in fall 2020.

Construction of the entire development is expected to be complete by the end of next year.

Annoyed at developers

Cool but when will they fix the roads around it? Developers have gone crazy without investing in road it takes 20min for my bus to go around the corner now. Who do I confront about this problem?

This is so exciting for all of Flushing. Need to win a Lottery drawing so I can buy an apartment at Tangram.

It’s great. But when is the city going to require these developers, who are getting rich, to invest in infrastructure?!?! The streets and the 7 train are crowded beyond capacity now, and the drainage system is antiquated.

Shots fired as NYPD confronts suspected car theft crew at Flushing auto shop Friday morning

The NYPD opened fire on a car theft crew who were caught in the act of stealing vehicles in Flushing on Friday morning.

Police from the 109th Precinct responded to a 911 call of a burglary in progress at around 5:30 a.m. at the Express Auto Repair shop at 134-02 33rd Ave. Officers encountered a group of ten men who were in possession of firearms in a parking area near the intersection of Prince Street and 33rd Avenue. As the officers approached on foot, the gunmen jumped into several vehicles and attempted to flee at a high rate of speed toward the officers, an NYPD spokesman said. One officer discharged his service weapon as the vehicles fled northbound on Miller Street toward 32nd Avenue.

Queens voters to decide key Civil Court races in 2025 primary and general elections
