Police are searching for a suspect who snatched a cell phone from a woman as she entered a Corona subway station earlier this month.
The police released video footage of the incident Wednesday that shows a man stealing a cell phone from a woman’s right back pants’ pocket while she was swiping her MetroCard through a turnstile at Junction Boulevard subway station.
The footage, which was taken on Sept. 1 at around 9 p.m., shows the 23-year-old woman quickly turning her body around but the assailant dashes off.
Police said the man ran down to the street area and fled westbound along Roosevelt Avenue.
Police described the man as being of Hispanic descent. He wore a red and white shirt, black shorts, black and white sneakers and had a black backpack on his back.
