Police are searching for a man who stole $100,000 worth of jewelry from a store inside the Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst last week.
The suspect broke through the locked front door of Zales Jewelry, located at 90-15 Queens Blvd., on Dec. 28 at around 10:15 p.m, according to police. The jewelry store was closed and unoccupied at the time.
Once inside, the suspect allegedly swiped around $100,000 worth of jewelry from the store and then fled the scene on foot with his ill-gotten gains in an unknown direction, police said.
The suspect is described as being between 20 to 30 years of age.
Police released CCTV footage of the man leaving the location after the incident.
