Police were called to a Flushing apartment Monday night where they discovered a woman’s dead body in the vestibule of the building with a trail of blood leading to her home.

The NYPD were responding to a 11:25 p.m. call about an assault in progress at 55-26 Main St. when they came across the 29-year-old victim near the front door of the building. The woman was unconscious and unresponsive and was aided by a 52-year-old man—who cops say may have played a role in her death.

According to police sources, the man and woman were heard arguing in an apartment prior to the victim’s death. Police found blood in the apartment and a trail leading to her body.

The man, who was in a distressed state, was taken to the 109th precinct for questioning, police said. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death and the investigation remains ongoing.

The identity of the deceased is pending family notification.
